About the Freelance Position
We are currently looking for an experienced freelance backend developer to support us in the further development of our products and to ensure the quality, performance, and scalability of our backend systems. You will work closely with our internal teams on live products used daily by hundreds of thousands of players. This role is designed for a long-term freelance collaboration with a reliable weekly workload. Type of Engagement
Freelance / Contract-based
- During the project duration, a minimum availability of 20 hours per week is required.
- Higher availability (up to full-time) is possible depending on project phase and mutual agreement.
- We are explicitly interested in long-term cooperation.
Area of Responsibility
- Development, maintenance, and optimization of backend systems.
- Close collaboration with developers, product management, and game teams.
- Development and maintenance of internal tools and services.
- Ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability of backend components.
Requirements
- Several years of professional experience in backend development.
- Very good knowledge of PHP, Java, and MySQL.
- Experience with (test-driven) development.
- Strong understanding of performance optimization and scalable architectures.
- Very good command of English, as English is the team language.
- Independent, structured, and reliable working style.
